Something of interest

http://www.informationweek.com/news/storage/portable/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=210603162 Sandisk is attempting to utilize the removable flash to kill the cd. This could take on if there is a viable music reader other than cell phones and lesser mp3 players.

Rich Cook

So last wednesday I had the pleasure of meeting Rich Cook at the Cook health Center in downtown Grand Rapids. Needless to say I was impressed with his intelligence. He managed to analyze each one of the product ideas in just a breif pitch and give us very useful advice.
The advice he gave me rings to true. He said my idea is that my product is in an area that is highly competitive, expensive and makes every preceding product obsolete. This is something I've been aware of since I came up with the idea. Having worked with computers since the age of 13 the best and brighters computer that was purchased was always put to shame within 6 months. This may make it seem like I should give up. The best advice he gave me came in one simple sentence. Find the need the iphone doesnt cover and exploit it. Thats where I am at right now

Rowsters

I went to Rowsters and I learned a few things about the Coffee industry. To start out I have vague information on how coffee is made as my mom attempted a coffee shop back in Delaware. suffice to say it was not an easy opening. Where we failed is we attempted to cater to everyone at low costs. While this did get many people it did not work out on making a profit. The owner had a completly different idea of how he wanted operate the business. His main focus was quality coffee and premium price in the up and coming market of cherry road. The unwillingness to loose quality to compete makes him a unique case. Not only is his business model something to take interest but the fact he has not accured any debt in starting the business. This helps a lot during the rough time ahead in the US economy. This reminded me of South Boston where my father currently resides. A lot of new families are begining to move back into areas of cities once deemed slums and bringing new money into the community.

Tech update one

Sorry for the late updates but I'm currently battling what will amount to a 24 hour virus hopefully. An article I found interesting shows how that they havent suffered with the economic slow down. I guess that people still found many different kinds of utility than just gaming.

The media monster

Greetings Readers,

I would like to introduce you my product idea. The media monster is a multifunction media device that functions much like a mp3 player. Where it differentiates from the average mp3 design is the size the hard drive capacity. The hard drive capacity is One terabyte, plenty for the average user. It will also feature WiFi technology so that you can download movies, music, and games. It has touch screen capabilities as well is streaming video with the wifi.
